Bulbasaur in PokéBonk
I pulled Bulbasaur from pokemon.json rather than from a tier graphic. Id 1, key bulbasaur, types grass and poison, captureRate 45, BST 318. The Spanish flavor line says that from birth it grows by feeding on the nutrients in the seed on its back. That sentence is the file, not my copy.
Dex stats I am willing to print
HP 45, Attack 49, Defense 49, Special Attack 65, Special Defense 65, Speed 45. Ivysaur (id 2) is 60/62/63/80/80/60, BST 405, and the file’s evoLevel is 16 with trigger level-up from id 1. Venusaur (id 3) is 80/82/83/100/100/80, BST 525, evoFrom 2, evoLevel 32. Those evoLevel numbers match the main-series levels stored in the file. They are not the in-run levels.
In-run evolution is a second number
The client function clamps the middle stage to 16–30 with round(8 + dex level) and the final stage to 36–50 with round(22 + 0.6 × dex level). Applied to the starters, the notes compute level 24, then Venusaur at 41. Charizard and Blastoise land at 44. I am not replacing the file’s 16 and 32 with 24 and 41. Both columns exist, and mixing them is how a guide goes wrong.
Photosynthesis gives +1.5 regeneration and +25% healing. Actual Grass hits can heal 0.4% maximum HP, limited to five triggers per second. The curated kit is Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Sleep Powder and Solar Beam; Sleep Powder is a status tool, not a second damaging type. This supports sustain-oriented planning without claiming a tested clear-speed rank.
The complete source learnset and a build-planning anchor appear below. Same-stat stacking and STAB are separate: ordinary matching-type damage is multiplied by 1.25 in the outgoing-hit code. The 0.5.3 additive-stacking change does not turn STAB into an additive bonus.

Build planning from the official kit
The Bulbasaur League line uses Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Sleep Powder, Solar Beam. Its passive key is photosynthesis. This is the curated kit, not a promise that every source-learnset move appears in a run.
Type-only defensive weaknesses: Flying 1.35×; Poison 1.08×; Ground 1.08×; Bug 1.08×; Fire 1.35×; Psychic 1.35×; Ice 1.35×. These are calculated before abilities, armor, items and the incoming-damage clamp. Use the matchup calculator for a particular enemy; use the Lab calculator to budget permanent upgrades. This is untested build planning, not a claimed clear or measured DPS build.
Frequently asked questions
Does Bulbasaur evolve at level 16 in a run?
The file says 16. The in-run formula result cited for starters is 24, then Venusaur at 41. I print both and do not collapse them.
What is the capture rate?
The file lists 45. The catch chance still runs through the formula on the how-to-play page.
