Pikachu in PokéBonk

Pikachu is a League starting member with Electric typing, base Speed 90 and captureRate 190. Its raw evoFrom points to Pichu (#172), but Pichu lies outside the client’s 151-species filter. That data link does not make Pichu a playable Kanto entry.

Evolution: file metadata versus the run

The filtered League starts directly at Pikachu. Its raw Pichu parent is outside maxDex 151. No in-run evolution from Pichu is claimed. Raichu uses the numeric fallback described on its own page.

Data-led choices, not a tested build

The official kit is Thunder Shock, Electro Ball, Thunderbolt and Thunder, all Electric. Electric’s relationship against Ground is softened to 0.5 rather than zero, but it is still unfavorable. Pikachu’s League unlock challenge is 10,000 rainy-weather defeats, not a generic early capture guarantee.

How to read the source data

The stat block and full source learnset below come from the game’s public JSON. Learnset levels and source move power are dex metadata, not guaranteed in-run unlock levels or final damage. The official roster kit and passive are taken separately from the client bundle. No controlled-run sample or measured build performance is claimed.

Build planning from the official kit

The Pikachu League line uses Thunder Shock, Electro Ball, Thunderbolt, Thunder. Its passive key is static. This is the curated kit, not a promise that every source-learnset move appears in a run.

Type-only defensive weaknesses: Ground 1.35×. These are calculated before abilities, armor, items and the incoming-damage clamp. Use the matchup calculator for a particular enemy; use the Lab calculator to budget permanent upgrades. This is untested build planning, not a claimed clear or measured DPS build.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pikachu a separate League starter?

Yes. The official 79-member roster has this species as a starting entry; its challenge and kit are separate from the full 151-species database.

Are these the stats shown during a run?

No. These are the source dex stats. The client derives combat values and applies passives, evolution scaling, items and Lab upgrades separately.
